The Conjurer's Heart Synopsis
Things have grown darker for Percivine. Following the devastating loss of his father, Astronitus, and the defeat of the Kinship of Eradell (K.O.E.) at the Elvic seaside town of Lithos, Percivine’s fractured mind is burdened by deepening angst, and a dangerous indulgence. This indulgence begins to lead him down a path once walked by his friend, Dunngarunax Galon.
As the months pass, Percivine and the Solemn Hand uncover a plot to use one of their own in Haraxas’s plan to dominate Gylranor, by forcing them to locate an artifact from an ancient order long believed to have perished in the famed Conjurers’ War. Not only is Haraxas and his Bloodfast Concordat steadily gaining power, they’re achieving victories far beyond what the K.O.E. ever anticipated.
Now, in an effort to quell the darkness rising in Haraxas’s wake, Percivine and his allies journey across Eradell in search of knowledge—clues that could bring about the Netherid’s fall and finish what Haraxas’s brother, Karxas, began in the Third Dawn. This time, mistakes will carry heavier consequences, and the Solemn Hand cannot afford a single one.

What you need to know about A Story of Gylranor
A Story of Gylranor is a sweeping, character-driven epic fantasy series by J. G. Velez II, set in a richly imagined world where ancient magic, fractured loyalties, and dark prophecy converge. At its heart is Percivine Ogthorne, a young Neledar whose quiet life is shattered when he narrowly escapes an attack by shadowy beings known as Argoms. In his flight, he stumbles into a fate far greater than himself—one bound to the secret past of his brother Sirien, a hidden order known as the Solemn Hand, and a realm quietly slipping into darkness.
As the Argom leader Talus the Dark influences the kingdom of Nell from within—ensnaring its leaders, corrupting its systems, and striking dangerous alliances—Percivine is forced to confront the harsh realities of protecting Gylranor. Alongside a Warlock, an exiled Elf, and other allies like a healer, a Dwarf with an artificial arm powered by maggedium, and an Orc, he uncovers a rising evil once thought defeated.
Each book deepens the stakes. In The Netherid’s Return, the aftermath of battle leaves Nell nursing its wounds. A new threat emerges: the monstrous Haraxas, brought back through uneasy pacts between Argoms and Orcs. As friends stand trial and loyalties strain, a darker force looms on the horizon.
By The Conjurer’s Heart, the struggle has grown more dire. Percivine spirals into grief and reckless indulgence. With the Haraxas gaining terrifying momentum, the Solemn Hand faces a grim plot to use one of their own to retrieve an artifact tied to a long-extinct magical order. Haunted by loss, Percivine must choose whether to rise against the coming storm or be swept away by it.
Blending high-stakes adventure with emotional depth and political intrigue, A Story of Gylranor is a tale of brotherhood and the dangerous cost of destiny.
